X-Ray Fluorescence Analysis in Archaeometry: Application and Expectation

Abstract:This article describes the applications of X-ray fluorescence in archaeology research, including the appraisal, dating, provenance and mine material origin analysis of cultural relic, the study of manufacturing technics and production of cultural relic, etc. It also suggests some expectation and problems, in order to draw attention of X-ray fluorescence analysts and archaeologists, promote the in-depth development of X-ray fluorescence analysis application in archaeology research, and further make more contributions to Chinese archaeology research.
