Abstract:Following the previous work, luminescent properties of Eu3+ ions in powder sample Eu[Cr0.1Al0.9(OH)6Mo6O18]·11H2O was studied in detail. Experimental results revealed that there were three Eu3+ centers in the system. The dominant one can transfer its excitation energy to Cr3+ ions, as studied before. By conducting site-selective excitation at low temperature, emission spectra from the three centers were separated clearly. The fluorescence decay curves for different centers were also measured. Lifetime values 107 and 599 μs for 5D0 energy level of center 1 (main site) and center 3 were obtained respectively, showing that the main site is in a lower symmetry.
