Abstract:A new catalytic kinetic spectrophotometry method for the determination of trace manganese based on the oxidation reaction of H2O2 with methylthymol blue in Na2B4O7-NaOH medium has been developed. The range of the determination range was 0.20-40.00 μg·L-1. The apparent activation energy and apparent rate constant were 73.24 kJ·mol-1 and 5.62×10-4·s-1, respectively, and the detection limit was 6.4×10-10 g·mL-1. The method has been used to determine trace manganese in Mongolian medicine with satisfactory result.
