The Influence of Several Anions on Sonoluminescence

Abstract:1.1 MHz ultrasound was used to induce sonoluminescence in air-saturated solutions dissolved five kinds of anions in different ranges: NO-3: 0.2-20 mg·L-1, F-: 4-20 mg·L-1, Cl-: 5-25 mg·L-1, HCO-3: 8-30 mg·L-1, SO2-4: 0.4-40 mg·L-1.It was found that four kinds of the anions, Cl-, NO-3, HCO-3 and SO2-4 at the above mentioned concentrations have no influence on sonoluminescence.However, only F- in the range of 4-20 mg·L-1 can quench the sonoluminescence.The quenching mechanism was analyzed.
