Determination of Calcium Concentration in Water Solution by Laser-Induced Plasma Spectroscopy

Abstract:With the experiment setup the calcium concentration in water solution was measured, based on a Nd:YAG Q-switched solid laser as the exciting light. The experiment results show that the concentration of calcium has a good linear relationship with its spectral intensity, the maximum relative errors of measurement are 3.79%, and the linear regression coefficients are 0.992 87. In addition, laser induced plasma spectroscopy (LIPS) demonstrated convenient operation, and reliable and higher precision measurement of calcium concentration in water solution.
